Child Drowns in Community Pool | News

PENN FOREST TOWNSHIP — A boy in Carbon County drowned Saturday at the Indian Mountain Lakes community swimming pool in Penn Forest Township.

According to police, the 9 year old from Albrightsville was swimming in the pool with family and friends when someone saw him floating face down.

Lifeguards attempted CPR but were unable to revive the boy. He was rushed to Lehigh Valley Hospital where the medical staff tried again to revive him.  He was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Police said the death is accidental.  An autopsy is scheduled for early next week.
